Book Rental Through the JCSU Bookstore

Saving money is just a click away.

It’s no surprise that new, and even used, textbooks are an expensive part of college life. Even less surprising is the fact that most students don’t keep the majority of the textbooks they’ve purchased after completing courses that are not related to their major. That’s why JCSU has teamed with BookRenter.com, allowing students to save up to 75% on their textbooks by renting instead of buying them at a higher cost.

How does it work?

BookRenter allows students to rent books for a period of either 30 days, 45 days, 60 days, 90 days or 125 days (a full semester). Once the rental period is up, students can choose to add an extension to the rental period of the textbook, buy the book from BookRenter or they can send the book back to BookRenter. Shipping is free for sending and returning books.

How should my book look when I return it?

Textbooks are mailed to students in like-new or better condition. Students are allowed a minimal amount of highlighting and writing in their rentals books, and are expected to return the rented books in a like-new or better condition. Additional fees will be charged if books are returned with minor to major damage. If a rented book comes to the student in a damaged state, he/she should call BookRenter Customer Service at (888) 398-1977.
